Color Science & Theory

Ages: 9-17

Schedule: Fridays, 2/3, 2/10 and 2/17, 1:00-3:00pm

Create artwork while exploring the history and science behind what makes color. A basic introduction to the visual spectrum and study of how we see color will be introduced. A history of the natural resources used to make color and how our methods have evolved to include synthetics will be discussed. Highlights will include the color red and insect cochineal and the color and plant indigo. Students will create art in each meeting.
