Pinch Pot Creatures

Schedule: Wed, 12/7 and 12/14, 4:00-6:00pm

This two class workshop will teach basic clay sculpting and painting techniques to transform simple pinch pots into colorful creatures both realistic and mythical. In class one, students will learn common clay sculpting terms and applications as they shape their creatures with both hands and clay tools. Class two will introduce basic color mixing concepts before we bring our hardened models to life with paint. By the end of this workshop, artists will have become novice sculptors and painters and take home their awesome masterpieces!

About the Instructor
Kate McDermott is an aspiring sculptor and teacher. A recent graduate from Hall High School in Connecticut, Kate is currently enrolled in Dynamy’s gap year program in Worcester, through which she interns at Worcester Think Tank and the Worcester Center for Crafts. Throughout high school, Kate worked with elementary school children at West Hartford Art League where she was able to share her love for art on a regular basis, and help students to unleash their imaginations.
